Who here has seen a road that goes through a creek? Not during flooding or heavy rain, just it always goes through a creek.
I found this recently. It only came up to the door sill on the lesbo-wagon, but this was after a dry week. It's right outside my small town so I can't wait to see it after heavy rain. It's not a heavily used road but it's a small country road that doesn't look abandoned. There were other ways to get to the other side. I just thought it was interesting so I decided to share it with you as I've only seen roads like this in Eastern Europe.

Back when I did outside (travelling) sales I saw a few. They're still pretty rare though even in the rural South. I remember the one was a temporary thing until they could build some mini bridge thing. Lots of times they're after natural disasters.

I've seen a couple in backcountry central CA. Most of them are less than 4 inches deep though.

I know of a few in Kentucky. One of my old friends lives off a road with a crossing. Always interesting visiting him after the rain. Your car will actually get pushed downstream, so you have to drive pointed at a tree to the side of the road.

My hometown had roads like that leading out to some of the farms. The creeks only ran in spring and fall, but they could get pretty gnarly. Only other options were to cut through fields (which no one cared about if they weren't planted) or to take the state highways which could be 50 miles out of the way depending on where your final destination was.

I've seen a couple of these in Florida, including a concrete-bottomed one where I got out to walk it and test the water depth and it was two feet deep, and that was before I got to the centerline of it, I just didn't want to wade any deeper. I gave up and turned my car around.

There was a small road like this in my father's home town. They used to park their cars in it so they could wash them back in the 50s.

My forester got moved a little but nothing uncontrollable and it wouldn't move when I stopped in the deepest part. I wouldn't put anything without awd through it though.
